Review by Amy (date: 03-Jun-2008)
Subject: WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!
Comment: I booked a two night stay at Jellystone Park in Cave City, KY for myself, my husband, and our three year old daughter. This was supposed to be a short family trip to celebrate my husband coming home from his second tour of duty in Iraq and turned out to be a nightmare! First, they sent us to the wrong cabin, where we unpacked everything and spent the first night. They didn't even realize their mistake until another family was sent to our cabin (on our second day) and opened the door to see all of our stuff. Then it just went down hill from there. We were leaving the pool, which is adjacent to the ranger station when we were approached by the manager. He told us he had been looking for us all day, yet we were right next to the ranger station! The family that was supposed to be in that cabin was ready to check in and since they couldn't find us, they went ahead and packed all of our belongings up for us and threw them onto a golf cart! Half of our refrigerated food was shoved into our cooler and the rest into a cardboard box! They wrapped our daughters training potty seat up in one of our bath towels and threw that in a suitcase. Her toothbrush was later found in my makeup bag, our chicken (dinner for that evening) was no where to be found and everything was just in disaray! The worst part of all is that my wedding rings just disappeared along with my husband's $75 flashlight that is small enough to fit in your pocket! They ended up cutting the pipe to the sink to "look" for my rings but I felt as though we were just inconviencing them and that the manager seemed more concerned about the other family not having a sink to use than the fact that they just packed up our stuff without concent and as a result my wedding rings are gone. Another thing that just absolutely baffled me is that the key they gave us was to the cabin we were supossed to be in yet it opened the door to the cabin that they had sent us to! When we told the manager about this he flat out lied to my husband and told him that was impossible. So my husband physically showed him how another cabin's key opened the door. Then the manager confessed that these doors were easy to open and showed my husband how you "jimmy" the door knob to unlock it!!! To top it all off, my husband even talked to the owner of the park in person and nothing was done about our loss. Not that we were looking for a hand out but I work in the restaurant business and I know how customer service works. They didn't comp our stay which we payed almost $250 for, give us a discount...nothing! So when we should have been on the road back home so I could get back to work, we were at the police station filing a report! I have never been treated so poorly in my life. This park will never receive any of our business ever again!

Comment: Nice place to call home for a night or two. Registration was quick and staff were extremely pleasant. Nice large sites and all the amenities we needed. Even in the middle of summer it wasnt that crowded. I will be back.
